Production Hall Expansion by Trutec Oy Improves Workflow
The production hall of Nordautomation in Alajärvi handles heavy workshop welding and assembly operations. The main contractor for the project was Jan Kujala Oy.
The hall expansion added approximately 1,000 m² of production space, allowing the company to reorganize its production processes. This significantly improved workflow efficiency in the workshop, which was one of the key benefits of the project. One notable change was the consolidation of different operations under the same roof, which not only streamlined work but also enhanced workplace safety.
As part of the expansion, Nordautomation invested in new overhead cranes and restructured workflows, significantly boosting production efficiency. The facilities also became more comfortable, with, for example, reduced noise levels in the assembly hall.
Nordautomation’s CEO, Timo Kuusisto, expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress and outcome.
Together with Production Manager Antti Puumala, he presented the project phases and results to guests during the opening ceremony. Visitors toured the facilities in small groups, learning about the expansion and reorganized workflows.
Trutec’s part of the project began in May with sensor casting in week 18 and was completed in July. The comprehensive design-manufacture-install delivery allowed the industrial hall to be taken into use quickly and smoothly.
