Weather-resistant fiber cement as facade material in a shopping center
Klemettilä shopping center in Vaasa gets an impressive facade
The shopping center completed in Klemettilä, Vaasa, last November serves its customers.
The shopping center, which was built by Wasacon Oy as the main contractor, housed a Lidl store, a McDonald’s fast food restaurant, and a Neste Express station. Wasaplan Oy was responsible for the architectural design of the project.
Trutec Oy implemented the facade cladding of the shopping center consisting of fiber cement boards.
The board material chosen was Cembrit Patina in a natural light beige color. Fiber cement board is a weather-resistant and almost maintenance-free facade material. The surface of the fiber board is finely structured.
The advertising pylon erected in the courtyard of the shopping center was also covered with the same material, creating a striking and unified whole when viewed in both directions along Sepänkyläntie.
Trutec Oy’s delivery also included the background structures for the panels and the sheet metal trim needed for finishing.
“Trutec is a flexible and productive partner. We are very satisfied with the cooperation and the end result,” says construction site manager Elina Pollari / Wasacon Oy about the facade construction cooperation with the main contractor.
Thank you to Wasacon Oy for an all-around successful project.
